The District Gateway Improvement Project ($1.1 million, completed in 2021) was TIRZ 25’s first construction issued contract by the authority and first commissioned $1 million spent to the community. This collaborative initiative with TIRZ 9 and the 5 Corners Improvement District enhanced five major intersections along US 90A/South Main Street with multicolored lighting systems, pedestrian safety improvements, pavement markings, way-finding graphics, and landscaping.

Improved intersections include:

  • Fondren Road
  • Hillcroft Avenue
  • Chimney Rock Road
  • South Post Oak Road
  • Hiram Clarke Road

The project received Local, State and National recognition, including the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) at the 2024 Engineering Excellence Awards, where it was honored among 220 projects submitted nationwide.
